In 2010 – the year in which Kris splendidly celebrated his 60th birthday - Kris De Bruyne (younger than ever) recorded his 19th album "La Matanza Songs". It's an album containing entirely different songs than we are used to hearing from him.
All the songs were conceived and written on the Spanish island "El Hierro", in central Spain in "La Parroquia de La Matanza", or even as far as Molyvos, Lesbos. The Spanish and Greek suns clearly shone their light on Kris' creative writing & composing process and charged the songs with a certain carefree grace. The studio recordings took place in an extremely sunny atmosphere too, with his fantastic band (see below). The integration of the brass band is also quite unique!
"Recht op Dank" will be/was released in October as 1st single, the 2nd single "I Kori Mou" is for December.
Two tasty bites of the full CD that is to be presented to press and public in the AB-Club on 2 February 2011.
"La Matanza Songs" brilliantly brings everything to life ...
