American metal band surprises with dubstep elements
Korn's Path Of Totality tour (named after their new, tenth album) will bring them to AB for the second time in a short while. After an awesome visit at the end of 2010, the band containing frontman Jonathan Davis this time returns with a dubstep-infected sound (as heard on the new single ‘Narcissistic Cannibal’ that was worked on by the likes of DJ/producer-of-the-moment Skrillex). Other drum & bass-, dubstep- and electro-producers were sought to supply the necessary electronica elements to their nu-metal sound. So too Netherland's Noisia who have worked in the past with The Prodigy en Deadmau5. The sale of Korn albums is heading into the 40 million copies worldwide and the band has already received 2 Grammy Awards in its career, for the singles ‘Freak On A Leash’ and ‘Here To Stay’.
The Korn show will be opened by J Devil (or rather a DJ-set by Korn frontman Jonathan Davis), followed by a set from American dubstep DJ Downlink.
