Rebellious, melancholy indie-hero
Singer, songwriter and producer Archy Marshall, from London, began making music ten years ago under the alias Zoo Kid. His distinctive lo-fi sound and deep, lamenting crooner voice stood out from the start. His first EP as King Krule appeared a year later. These early successes were followed by a sublime debut album, ‘6 Feet Beneath the Moon’ via XL Recordings. The singles ‘Easy Easy’ and ‘Baby Blue’ even provided the young Marshall with a BBC’s Sound of 2013 nomination. ‘The OOZ’ , the indie hero’s second album, was labelled ‘best new music’ by Pitchfork.
