Norwegian and hot? Missing link between Rockabilly, Hillbilly, Nashvilly!
At Dranouter again this summer, after that long sold-out ABClub earlier this year. We read on the ABsite at the time:
'Simply irresistible live, the extremely fun missing link between Rockabilly, Hillbilly, Nashvilly... Andrew Sisters, Cramps, Spike Jones... All new swing for all Elisa Doolittles and Caro Emeralds and Lady Linns put together and even better, as these Norwegians can also play too: unbelievable how they constantly exchange instruments and then score again every time... ten out of ten, girls!
Welcome to the exciting world of Anne Marit, Marianne, Solveig and Turid, alias Katzenjammer with their hot harmonies plus accordion, mandolin, guitar, piano, drums, balalaika bass, xylophone, banjo, trumpet... and also, above all, with wonderful songs like 'Tea With Cinnamon' or the weird title song from their debut CD 'Le Pop'.
The genre? Folk! But as rocking as a Balkan band too! Did we hear a piece of Katshaturian in 'Der Kapitän'? Anything intense goes. You'd better get ready for Katzenjammer!'
This quite mad quartet must also have pretty much finished that new CD of theirs by now (via Universal).
