Underworld frontman goes solo and intimate
Karl Hyde
Underworld has NEVER been your average dance band. So it came that they were recently commissioned by Royal National Theatre to do the music for 'Frankenstein', at the suggestion of director Danny Boyle (see: ‘Trainspotting’). They also provided the music for the London 2012 Olympic Opening Ceremony under his wings. In '13, another fine chapter will be added to the Underworld tale too.
Frontman/singer Karl Hyde will namely be focusing on a brand new album in ’13 – ‘Edgeland’ - whereby he mainly concentrates on the more introspective and minimal side of the story. All that, with acoustic instrumentation. Think, musically, of the more dark and introverted side of Underworld tracks like ‘Tongue’ on their breakthrough album ‘Dubnobasswithmyheadman’ (from ’94 already), ‘Sappy’s Curry’ from ‘Second Toughest In The Infants’ (from ’96) or ‘Faxed Invitation’ from ‘Oblivion With Bells' (from ’07).
By the way, good news for Underworld fans: Karl Hyde shall namely create a minimal reworking of a number of Underworld classics. Hail!
Farao

Farao will soon be recording her first EP with the assistance of Mike Lindsay of British experimental folk band Tungg. Karl Hyde is taking this Norwegian beauty along on his European tour as ‘Special Guest’.
