Kendrick Lamar collaborator & Prince/D’Angelo influenced
If you put on Kendrick Lamar’s superb ‘good kid, m.A.A.d city’ on again anytime soon, then feel free to listen twice as hard to 'Bitch Don't Kill My Vibe', 'Sing About Me / Dying Of Thirst' and 'Real'. As, in the background, you will still hear the warm voice of JMSN (pronounced: Jameson) – an American singer-songwriter, R&B crooner, multi-instrumentalist, producer, engineer, mixer and videographer.
His stage name may well be quite a tongue twister, but his birth name (Christian Berishaj) is too. But that didn’t stop Usher, Ta-Ku or Kaytranada working with JMSN and make copious use of his vocals. He just recently released his, now 3rd, exceptionally soulful album ‘It Is.’ on which there are plenty of Prince, D’Angelo and Donny Hathaway influences to be heard.
