Post-dubstepper Jamie Woon is blessed with a golden soul voice and takes the AB stage for the second time this year.
Jamie Woon was in the BBC’s top 5 of its celebrated ‘Sound of 2011’ list this year. One of ‘The Year’s Most Promising New Artists.’ When you consider that this year’s list also included James Blake and The Vaccines then you’ll get the idea. Jamie Woon, a London producer and student of the famous Brit School, is blessed with a beautiful soul voice and resides for the sake of convenience within the post-dubstep scene. Woon has recently worked with James Blake, Mount Kimbie, dubstep god Burial and Ramadanman. His ‘Night Air’ single is a jewel that has rightly received a great deal of airplay and his debut ‘Mirrorwriting’ has garnered much applause. His AB performance this spring in a sold-out AB BOX can be summed up in one sentence: Jamie Woon is a class act, pure and simple!
A fun fact to finish on: Woon’s mother - Mae McKenna – has provided backing vocals for the likes of Björk and Michael Jackson… and his track ‘Spiral’ sounds exactly like the man from Neverland. A class act, just like we told you!
