Denmark's Efterklang sure knows how to continually reinvent itself... after a good 10 years, 400 concerts and three albums. With an insatiable desire for experiment, the band is constantly broadening its horizons. Not only in their music but also in their live shows, where this collective often appears in changing line-ups. Remember the Efterkids project with young musicians (with which they were present in AB in ’10) or the ‘Performing Parades’ project with which they presented their album ‘Parades’ (with The Britten Sinfonia in ’09). The Guardian wrote of it at the time, in a **** review:"An example of how a total integration of orchestral, electronic & rock elements can bring rewards".

Their recently released latest album ‘Piramida’ also contained collaborations with Nils Frahm, Peter Broderick and multi-instrumentalist Earl Harvin (Air, Tindersticks, The Frames,…). To mark the release, Efterklang will be touring under the moniker 'The Piramida Concerts' and will perform worldwide with a symphonic orchestra. The première took place in May at the famous Sydney Opera House with The Sydney Symphony.

Efterklang will appear in Belgium with the Sinfonia Rotterdam led by conductor Matthew Coorey. In order to arrange this 'Piramida Concerts' for the show with orchestra, Efterklang worked with Daniel Bjarnason (Sigur Rós, Múm), Missy Mazzoli (Kronos Kwartet) and Karsten Fundal (Under Byen) again. In the band you will find the likes of multi-instrumentalist Peter Broderick and drummer Toby Dammit (Iggy Pop, Rufus Wainwright).

Exclusively for AB, Mads and Casper from Eftreklang will give an interview about how the new album came into being, how their most successful tour has been going and what we can expect on this evening. The interviewer will be Dirk Steenhaut, music journalist for the likes of Focus Knack and Cobra.be and an expert on the Scandinavian music scene for years now.
