'A Sense Of Purpose', that's the title of the new In Flames album. This melodious, Swedish death metal band is a pioneer in its genre, together with bands like At The Gates and Dark Tranquillity whose original members also grew up in Gothenburg. 'A Sense Of Purpose' is onto its ninth studio album already and so it's about time that - after a number of major festival like Graspop - the band alight the AB stage this autumn.

Gojira must be just about the most popular French metal band there is. They're admired in the United States and in their homeland they were personally invited by Metallica to share a bill. The band consists of bassist Jean-Michel Labadie, guitarist Christian Andreu and the Duplantier brothers: drummer Mario and singer/guitarist Joe. We also saw the latter as bass player of Cavalera Conspiracy. Only days after their ABconcert the new album 'The Way Of All Flesh' will be released and so you'll be served that album in avant-première.

The six-member Swedish metal-core band Sonic Syndicate will be opening the bill. They count In Flames and Soilwork amongst their most important influences. At the moment they're touring the United States with Nightwish, in anticipation of their new album 'Love And Other Disasters' that will be released on 19 September.
