There are a limited number of combi-tickets available for the concerts taking place as a part of The New Wave Of Belgian Jazz! from WEDNESDAY 13 to TUESDAY 19 DECEMBER.

AB is proud to present THE NEW WAVE OF BELGIAN JAZZ!: a fantastic seven-dayer to conclude the successful JAZZ 100 series. We focus on the latest generation of musicians from The Contemporary National Jazz Scene, for whom jazz is more of a mentality than a genre.

IGLOO RECORDS
An outright impressive player in the jazz scene with more than 250 releases to its name now: Brussels jazz label Igloo. Igloo has been active since ’78 (!) and, even though both Chet Baker (!) and our national pride Philip Catherine have recorded on the label, their main goal is still to offer a (very) first platform to young jazz musicians. Pianist Eric Legnini, as well as vibraphone player Pascal Schumacher, pianist Nathalie Loriers and Melanie De Biasio were particularly grateful to have been able to debut via this route. AB has given Igloo 100% carte blanche and presents the label’s latest draft by means of a fantastic double bill.

JEAN-PAUL ESTIÉVENART
Trumpet player delivered an edgy upper-cut with his latest album ‘Behind The Darkness’. He has already pocketed the prestigious Django D’Or, as well as collaborations /guest appearances with the likes of Joe Lovano, Noel Gallagher(!) and trumpet player Avishai Cohen. There’s a well-known guest in his trio who will return later in the evening: TaxiWars-drummer Antoine Pierre.

ANTOINE PIERRE – ‘URBEX’
TaxiWars-drummer Antoine Pierre delivered an impressive sample of National Jazz with his solo debut ‘Urbex’ – an abbreviation of Urban Exploration.  Even more impressive: the united top talent from both Flanders and Wallonia, which includes pianist Bram De Looze, saxophonist Steven Dellanoye and – there he is again – trumpet player Jean-Paul Estiévenart. So ‘Urbex’ forms the perfect soundtrack for the capital.
