Furious British post-punk
The five British punks from IDLES are on their way to taking over the world. The band debuted a few years ago with a passionate, political, dark debut: ‘Brutalism’. The album had a huge impact, that they continued to build on with ‘Joy as an Act of Resistance’. Their second album was a manifesto in which they denounce sexism, racism, and the polarization in Great Britain. They have conquered Europe and the United States, in no time at all, with their explosive live shows.
Their third album, ‘Ultra Mono’, will be out on September 25. First single ‘Grounds’ is intended to be a battle cry, says singer Joe Talbot: "We wanted to write a song that embodied self-belief, and gave us self-belief - a counter-punch to all the doubt we build up from all the noise we so easily let in. We wanted to make the sound of our own hearts’ marching band, armed with a jack hammer and a smile. We wanted to make the sound of our engine starting. So we did."
