For TriAngle fans who love Balam Acab and Holy Other.
How To Dress Well is the alter-ego of half Brooklyn/half European resident artist Tom Krell. He's been dropping music on the internet since late '09, music in which slowed R&B, blurry beats and is own falsetto provide the largest contributions. The majority of these tracks landed on his highly praised debut ‘Love Remains’. The scratchy bedroom recordings weren't 'cleaned up' but rather deliberately kept lo-fi. The Tri▼Angle label – Balam Acab, Holy Other, Evian Christ,… - became his homebase. Pitchfork crowned the album with a Best New Music score (8,7) and oracled: “the biggest breakthrough in home-recorded lo-fi in years”.
Lastly, may we add here that Krell’s falsetto strongly reminds one of Bon Iver? Also: in September his new album ‘Total Loss’ will be released via Weird World (see: Peaking Lights, Washed Out,…) and according to Krell it's an album “about the rare sharing that can go on between people that pierces through the undeniable, sometimes unshakable struggle and pain of life.” So now we know that too.
Support-act will be beatmeister Title from the sweltering On-Point stables in which UpHigh Collective, Delvis (that voice!) and JtotheC also reside. Title was also recently seen at the side of that other young and exciting band – Polaroid Fiction. Especially for AB, Title will be bringing along a few special guests. Be sure to check out the StuBru session by Title with Delvis and become an instant fan.
