Amongst the likes of Macklemore, Childisch Gambino & Watsky
The chronicles of Steven Adam Markowitz’ young life read like a real American Dream! As a Jewish New Yorker pretty boy, he attended the renowned Long Island School for the Gifted (for children with an IQ of 130 or more) and then went on to study marketing & finance at the Ivy League University Of Pennsylvania where he played defensive back on the football team. After his studies, he was recruited by Google... all was sorted!
But the call of his great passion, hip-hop, was deafening and after a series of impressive mixtapes and enthusiastically received EPs, Markowitz – aka Hoodie Allen – self-released his debut ‘People Keep Talking’ in the summer of ’14. A fresh sounding mix of pop, R&B and hipster-hop à la Macklemore & Lewis, Childisch Gambino, Chiddy Bang and Watsky.
In his homeland the number of sold-out shows just keeps on mounting, but the ball has yet to get rolling here for the white boy with the tight flow. His most recent single ‘All About It’, in which Hoodie shares the spotlights with Ed Sheeran, is certainly the ideal start to totally taking Europe by surprise.
