The band name Hi Hawaii is actually a corruption of Daniel Johnston's album title 'Hi, how are you', one that this Brussels/Rotterdam duo is a "big fan" of. Their musical recipe? Catchy pop songs and drum-'n-bass synth sing-alongs. They smear all that with unabashedly unbridled improvisation and wild solos, with a playground of modular and analogue synths, samples and unpolished vocals.

They renamed themselves Hi Hawaii & The Extensions especially for AB. A duo expanded to an octet with 3 wind instruments and 3 stringed instruments. Their debut 'The List' is soon to be released via W.E.R.F records (SCHNTZL, Donder, BeraadGeslagen ...) and will be presented to you stream-wise on this evening.
