Never thought I'd find a blues man in Helmut Lotti!
“Never thought I'd find a blues man in Helmut Lotti!” cheered the papers after the Dranouter Radio 1 sessions 2011. None less than Roland Van Campenhout, the Belgian embodiment of the blues, had invited a number of musician friends to dive into 60 years of blues, roots and rock ’n’ roll history with him. You missed this Dranouter Radio 1 session 2011? No worries! Due to the great success, the group decided to resume the entire project under the title – are you ready for it - Helmut Lotti & Roland’s Super Allstar Enlightening Music Machine. Together with harmonica wonder Steven De Bruyn (The Rhythm Junks, El Fish,…), singer/guitarist Pieter-Jan Desmet, string scourge Elko Blijweert (Pawlowski), young talent Ruben Focketeyn (yep, son of), star bassist Jasper Hautekiet and allround drummer Jeroen Stevens (I Love Sarah), they present to you fantastic songs like ‘I’ll sleep when I’m dead’ by the unfortunately prematurely-deceased Warren Zevon or ‘Cindy Cindy’ by the great Elvis Presley.
So don't expect a solo act from Helmut Lotti or Roland, on stage you'll see a musical collective with one thing in common: their love of good music.
Please note: this unique project will only resume for three shows in three fine musical houses: De Roma (Antwerp), Gent's Handelsbeurs and Brussels' AB.
