Experimental rock that we at AB are mad about. This quartet from LA debuted in ’07 with their debut of the same name. The Guardian wrote of it: "artfully crafted noise and raw synth, haunting monotone vocals, and drum skills that are borderline insane". Exactly one year later Health have had their debut completely remixed and have released it as ‘Health/Disco’ again via New York label Lovepump United (who released other acts with tasteful names like AIDS Wolf or Child Abuse). Behind the remix dials sat the likes of Crystal Castles, Pictureplane and also Wire-journalist Philip Sherburne. Last year Health toured through America at the request of none less than Nine Inch Nails. Earlier in the year, during Domino, they provided us with a whopping uppercut. We're really hoping hard for the same again from their new album ‘Get Color’, to be released begin September. Finally, also a quote from Kindamuzik about Health: "Gut churning noise to some. Pop deconstructivism to others. Some even hear a heartstopping noise-rock band. Heaven, hell or insanity? You choose."
Opener will be American noise-dance producer Pictureplane or rather: Travis Egedy, who reconciles beats and noise. He has remixed Health and also Crystal Castles in the past and has already worked with Beirut's Zach Condon. He's coming to the AB to present his album ‘Dark Rift’.
