AN EVENING WITH GREG DULLI & MARK LANEGAN… it sounds like a classy, unique evening. Indeed, we'd like to think so. Just read along ...
Greg Dulli and (by now, resident artist) Mark Lanegan – supported by guitarist (and Dulli-companion) Dave Rosser – are touring Europe for a series of ‘special intimate performances’. That all under the title 'Stripped Down In The Gutter'. Euh Greg, could you clarify that a little? 'Since our instrumentation for this tour is going to be radically different, the shows will include many songs neither of us have performed in quite sometime or ever'. Thanks for that. Their setlist is still in the making, but we already know that half of the set will consist of reworked versions of songs from the Gutter Twins debut 'Saturnalia' and the 'Adorata' EP (available via iTunes). The other half will consist of stripped down versions of songs from their respective pasts. Wonderful material from the oeuvres of The Afghan Whigs, Screaming Trees, Mark Lanegan solo and also The Twilight Singers. In selected cities the trio will also be supported by several stringed instruments. A unique evening? That's right!
Support act for the GREG DULLI & MARK LANEGAN concert will be Brit Duke Garwood. In love with the blues. Solo. With an approach like a rumbling Tom Waits meets Captain Beefheart would attack the blues. Uncut wrote in a ****-review: "a visionary talent".
