Our favourite noise duo from Bristol!
Yes! Our favourite Bristolian noise duo is back with a vengeance. About time too, as their previous album βTarot Sportβ already dates from β09. Forerunner βRed Wingβ certainly has us expecting good things: moody and rhythmic noise as only Fuck Buttons can conjure it up.
Third album βSlow Focusβ has been released during the summer months, again via ATP Recordings.
A relative silence of four years seems like a long time but duo Benjamin John Power and Andrew Hung weren't sitting still in that time. Benjamin John Power released an album under the name Blanck Mass (with which he also toured) and Andrew Hung made music under the moniker Dawn Hunger. But the most remarkable thing was that their music β with Underworld as go-between β was used during the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in London.
Who'd have thought that noise would make it so far.
Support-act will be Fuck Buttons-recommendation English laptop-artist/violin-player Zan Lyons. His new album βDesolateβ is soon to be released, an album on which his violin perfectly fuses with his sharp, somewhat explosive beats. No surprise then that Zan Lyons opens for post-punk band Savages and also appears on the innovative TEDx.
