Frank Turner returns! It's not often that a performer so overwhelms us that he is to be seen again on the same stage only 4 months later. But we're happy to make an exception for Turner. This British singer-songwriter was tipped to us a year ago as the new Billy Bragg. The comparison may be a little too easily made but he certainly does write the sort of strong songs that should cheer everyday grey lives in the average British industrial city and in so doing also appeal to young punk-kids (he toured together with The Gaslight Anthem and will conquer the US this spring at the side of Flogging Molly). Moreover, his recent concert in the ABClub, on 30 November, was one to lick your fingers from (with a starring role for the audience that shouted along to all the songs). For those who want to sing to 'The Road', 'Photosynthesis' and 'Long Live The Queen' again and who could appreciate Turner's dry humour: see you in the ABClub on Sunday 4 April.
Crazy Arm is a foursome from Plymouth that released its album ‘Born To Ruin’ on the Xtra Mile label. NME spoke of ‘a southern-fried, desert-punk’n’roll mix, almost as if Josh Homme wanted QOTSA to be a cowboy band’. Be sure to also think in the direction of the rootsy, folky side of early Against Me! work.
