âPop music was invented for bands like Whitneyâ is what we wrote on the AB website in 2016. Debut album âLight Upon the Lakeâ had just been released at the time and the reviews were unanimous. Pitchfork went for an 8.3 and De Standaard praised the album with **** and wrote: âWhitneys liedjes over verliefdheid en hartzeer zijn zo aandoenlijk als een kind dat bellen blaast.â Result: 2 sold-out AB Club shows in 1 day! Weâre now 3 years further and it was high time for a follow-up. Guitarist Mark Kakacek and drummer Julien Ehrlich (who we also know from Unknown Mortal Orchestra) put out their 2nd album in 2019, âForever Turned Aroundâ, which they will again present live in AB.
