Psychedelic dream-pop-ers debut with ‘Night By Night’
The psychedelic dream-pop of Soldier’s Heart has been hanging out in the firing line of Belgium’s pop landscape since 2013 (after winning the first edition of StuBru’s De Nieuwe Lichting). They fought their way through to the rest of Europe with debut single ‘African Fire’ and successors ‘New Housie’ and ‘Ears & Eyes’ (from EP ‘Soldier’s Heart’ 04/15, yet another well-aimed shot to the pop-loving heart of our national radio stations). Out on the road with Balthazar, a collaboration with Giorgio Armani & Edmund Ooi during Milan Fashion Week and even an American tour!
The four guys, flanked by intriguing frontlady Sylvie Kreusch (who, as guest singer, regularly flirts with other acts, like Vuurwerk), really took their time for their first full release. In these times of fleeting hypes, it was refreshing and a shrewd strategy that resulted in an exciting collaboration with wonderboy producer Jasper Maekelberg (Faces On TV, Bazart, Amongster, Warhola, Tsar B) and artist/photographer Stef Van Looveren.
