Mini-festival full of frightening electro-noise and gruesome sounds!
Pharmakon sounds like the guttural utterances of human pain – screaming, growling, raging – that are sent through pedals, loops, microphones and synths into an alarming mix of electronica and noise. The alter-ego of young New Yorker Margaret Chardiet disorients the audience with a compelling live performance, bordering between performance art and underground music. She has already released two magnificent albums on Sacred Bones (Blanck Mass, Jenny Hval, Moon Duo, Föllakzoid, …), ‘Abandon’ and ‘Bestial Burden’, for which Pitchfork respectively rewarded her with no less than 8.0 and 8.4 (Best New Music). Her third issue ‘Contact’ will be out on March 31, first singles ‘Transmission’ and ‘No Natural Order’ grab you by the throat in the meantime. She already impressed in AB as support-act to Swans in 2014, now she arrives on her own to engulf the club with her mind-blowing show. Must see!
