An all-night electronic club event with the supreme goddess of the Belgian techno scene
Pounding techno music. A super-tight video & light show. Flawless beats. A dash of experimental electronica. Dirty dancing.
NEON is ready for a third edition and AB & Proximus make an unforgettable all-nighter of it once again. On Friday 22 December, from 10pm until 6am, the AB will transform into a sweltering nightclub for its annual electronic high-mass.
AB MAIN HALL
Charlotte de Witte (extended set)
Techno DJ and producer Charlotte de Witte – or even: supreme goddess of the techno scene, Queen of the underground – is, at 26, an established name in techno circles and she travels the world to charm the most obscure nightclubs with her dark, stripped down beats. Every week on Studio Brussel she shows her best, most innovative side in Playground and along the way she also launched KNTXT, her very own techno concept. Did we already mention that she also took home the Redbull Elektropedia Award for Best Producer last year?
Charlotte will be coming to immerse AB in her wonderful world for an extra-long time, with an extended set full of headstrong, non-conforming techno.
Fjaak (dj set)
German techno-dudes from the Berlin area who wallow in raw techno, injected with ambient textures and breakbeat. They are a highlight of quality label Monkeytown Records and that is quite an achievement when you know that you will also find Modeselektor, Moderat (R.I.P.!), Dark Sky and Howling there too.
AB CLUB – MESH label night
Max Cooper - live (extended set)
The Einstein of the techno scene! Cooper, a Doctor of Systems Biology (the science that studies biological systems at cell level), operates from out of London and takes us away on an audiovisual trip filled with avant-garde electronica, ambient and techno. IDM quoi, inspired by science, art and modern technology. Surround sound experience in AB Club included!
Rob Clouth
The Barcelonan DJ is a part of an innovative wave of IDM that is flooding the strongly commercialized dance scene. He dropped another new EP this fall, on Max Cooper’s MESH label. John Hopkins meets Autechre meets Sigur Rós.
No better way to round off the year in style than by diving into Brussels’ nightlife. So then: night revellers unite! It will be epic.
