This 25-year-old Japanese-born Brooklyn-resident singer-songwriter releases her 4th album ‘Puberty 2’ now, just prior to the summer, via Dead Oceans (see too: Tallest Man On Earth, Ryley Walker, Strand Of Oaks,…)
The advance single ‘Your Best American Girl’ was instantly bombarded to ‘Best New Track’ by Pitchfork and certainly has us very much looking forward to the rest of the album.
Expect impressive, acoustic guitar driven songs that are full of feedback, through which Mitski weaves her dark lyrics. Ideal stuff for the ears of Weezer, Girlpool or Waxahatchee fans.
We were certainly very impressed by her visit to SXSW (Austin, US).
