We mainly situate Fatoumata Diawara in Mali, while she was apparently born in the Republic Côte d'Ivoire and is now equally at home in Europe. But the music of this singer, guitarist and actress has had its origins in the sounds of the Wassoulou area ever since her debut CD 'Fatou' on the excellent World Circuit label. Add to that the just recently released CD 'Fenfo' and you have a stage presence to look forward to on 5 May 2020… definitely after her Couleur Café in 2018, an exuberant full venue in Leuven in 2019, and appearances this year at premier league festivals like Montreux, Roskilde, Glastonbury and Le Guess Who! too.
