Coca-Cola Sessions
Celebrate 10 years of Coca-Cola Sessions with the most exciting new hip-hop and urban pop!
For the tenth season in a row, we present the Belpop stars of tomorrow via the ‘Coca-Cola Sessions’. To celebrate this tenth anniversary, we head from the Club to the Box for an XL session.
Justine Bourgeus started out as violin player with School Is Cool. Her solo career took off in 2016. Tsar B made an impression, both nationally and internationally, with the singles ‘Myth’ and ‘Escalate’. What’s more, the clip for ‘Escalate’ was a hit in the world of YouTube choreographers. Two years later, her debut ‘The Games I Played’ was released. On it, she matches her penchant for violin with a dark r&b sound. British music mag NME called Tsar B's debut ‘bewitching’, Noisey compared the singer with FKA twigs and the Belgian media awarded the album richly, with loads of stars.
DVTCH NORRIS has established a cast iron live reputation over the past two years. With Ashley Morgan at his side as DJ & producer, the rapper from Antwerp has proved that he’s a fantastic performer that establishes super-energetic live shows. His warm hip-hop sound is a brilliant trip through soul, trap and funk.
Ruby Grace is one of the most promising singers of the moment. Her debut singles ‘Lipgloss’ and ‘Glitter’ brought her airplay on Studio Brussel as well as a spot on stage at Pukkelpop. The young singer from Hasselt mixes dark electro with pop and sultry r&b, thus following in the footsteps of Charli XCX and Banks.
According to Vice, Ashley Morgan is one of the most exciting new sounds in Belgian hip-hop. The producer from Hasselt began making music under the alias LTGL a few years ago. He was soon picked up by LeFtO and Gaslamp Killer. That was how he came to play at the legendary Low End Theory club and an exclusive Boiler Room set in the Atomium. Two years ago, he decided to focus on rapping. ‘LETGOLETGOLETGO’, his first EP under his own name, sounds unique and innovative.
Shaka Shams
Young Antwerp rapper Shaka Shams was crowned in December as one of the winners of Sound Track. He explores the boundaries of hip-hop and experiments with boom bap, lo-fi, trap and house. He has already worked with Belgian hip-hop queen Blu Samu as well, with whom he released the track ‘Summerfun Freestyle’.
