What makes an album timeless? We propose at least one sure criteria: when, 25 years (a quarter century!) later, an album still sounds as intense, honest, contemporary and moving as ‘Let Me Come Over’ by Buffalo Tom, from Boston. Because that’s how old this third longplayer by kindred spirits of Dinosaur Jr. now is in ’17. What’s more, the album was produced by none less than Sean Slade and Paul Q. Kolderie, or: the gents who would lay their hands upon Radiohead’s debut ‘Pablo Honey’ one year later.
‘Let Me Come Over’ also contained such wonderful singles as ‘Mineral’, ‘Velvet Roof’ but , in particular, the immortal ‘Tailights Fade’. To mark the 25th anniversary of this album, Buffalo Tom will be crossing the big pond to come play this classic in its entirety. The waiting will be the worst part!
