Reed player Akira Sakata is known for his collaborations with renowned artists like Jimmy Lions, Peter Brötzmann, Bill Laswell, Hamid Drake, Chris Corsano and Jim OâRourke and can be regarded as one of the most influential musicians of the Japanese free jazz and improvisation scene. The Italian, in Brussels residing piano player and composer Giovanni Di Domenico never misses a chance to forge adventurous collaborations with adventurous musicians. Nate Wooley, Chris Corsano, Steve Noble, Jim OâRourke or Toshimaru Nakamura, Helena Espvall, David Maranha and of course todays guest Akira Sakata itâs just a snippet of the ever expanding group of musicians he collaborates with. Heâs also the head honcho of his own Silent Water label and is one of the leading forces of the Studio Grez artist collective.
Jonas Cambien Trio
Jonas Cambien (1985) is a Belgian pianist and improviser, active on the Norwegian scene for improvised and contemporary music since he moved to Oslo in 2008. In 2016 Cambien made his debut as a leader with the superb release A Zoology of the Future for Clean Feed. Now his trio with drummer Andreas Wildhagen (Large Unit) and reed player AndrĂ© Roligheten (Friends & Neighbors) will play live on a Belgian stage for the first time promoting their brand new and second release for Clean Feed titled We Must Mustnât WeâŠ
