Brussels composer/musician Ben Bertrand modifies his bass-clarinet melodies with a battery of effect pedals thus creating unearthly dreamy compositions that could rub shoulders with the best work of Gavin Bryars or Jon Hassell. Minimalists like Steve Reich and Terry Riley are never far removed. Ben Bertrand has already played at Le Guess Who?, the Amsterdam World Minimal Music Festival and in AB at the BRDCST festival and he has served as support-act to noise sensation Senyawa, amongst others. He was selected for the European Shape program and released his 2nd album ‘Manes’ on Stroom.tv early on in the entire Corona misery.
The duo 64-Feet, Iris Eysermans and Marie-Noëlle Bette, has been around since 2009 and has taken a long musical trajectory in those years, one dedicated to giving the (historical) organ its deserved place in modern day music. They elegantly succeed in doing so by means of surprising programming with old & new music and no shyness about making use of new technologies, live-electronics, synthesizer and electronic organs.
