Farai Bukowski-Bouquet, or Farai for short, is a vocalist from London who last year released her impressive debut album ‘Rebirth’ (Big Dada Records) in collaboration with musician-producer TONE. With a palpably punk ethos, Farai sings in steely poetry about her big-city life as part of the African diaspora living in Britain’s capital. TONE provides robust synths and guitar, while Marc Pell of Micachu & The Shapes provides percussion. The result is alternative pop somewhere between in-your-face post-punk and warm soul.
