Hors ContrĂŽle Reggae
Hors ContrÎle? Regarding their audience at the recent Couleur Café: wildly exuberant! Plus 'Hors ContrÎle' is of course also the latest (seventh?) CD by these extremely entertaining French folks. Just read what Couleur Café had to say about Dub Inc?
'French reggae band Dub Incorporated is constructed with the harmonious voices of Bouchkour and Komlan, who mix Eastern and reggae influences with the energetic power of ragga dancehall. Even though many a fan considers Dub Inc. to be âthe best reggae made in Franceâ, the media ignores their very existence. As a result, their first album âDiversitĂ©â acquired the status of must-have in France thanks to an alternative network. Result: more than 10,000 CDs sold and a heap of sold-out concerts, but still no media attention. The album âAfrikyaâ was voted Best French Reggae Album at the Web Reggae Awards 2008. Most recent roots-discovery Tarrus Riley was invited onto their latest album âHors contrĂŽleâ. The explosive live-acts are much desired by our audience (Dub Inc belongs to the Top 3 of our fans' most requested performers!) that is more than happy to be whipped into a frenzy by Dub Inc.âs militant eloquence and energetic stage show.
Or do you remember that explosive AB Box in October 2008? At the time we hailed: 'Extremely witty reggae from Saint-Etienne, France... fantastic playing pleasure... Like a reggae big bang band in a busy street, mostly in pleasantly chanting French or playful English (or yet another irresistible language, whatever, just as long as it merrily gets moving.) An evening of genuine fun and titles like 'MĂ©tissage', 'Fara', 'Afrikya', 'Do Sissi', 'Myself'... but especially: 'For All Di Youth', 'Tiens Bon',' Jump Up'! Think Dub Inc!
Dub Inc also brings the promising support of Colocks: another French, highly engaged and self-contained reggae collective that is now working on the follow-up to its debut 'Construire Nos Vies'. You might already have seen them with Max Romeo, Alpha Blondy, Anthony B, Horace Andy and, in particular, Alborosie.
Itâs worth emphasising here that after this tour, Dub Inc really is taking a break (or hiatus, or holiday) for at least a year: now is the time!
