A brilliant hip hop legend
Earl Simmons, better known as DMX, is a brilliant hip hop legend. He started rapping at the age of thirteen. In 1998 he rose to mainstream popularity after the release of his debut album 'It's Dark and Hell Is Hot' with songs like 'Ruff Ryders' and 'X-Is Coming'. This was seen by many as the resurrection of hardcore rap after the death of Tupac Shakur and Notorious B.I.G. In 1999 he released his most successful album: '...And Then There Was X' to include 'Party Up' and 'What's My Name'. Later on, other albums were released such as 'The Great Depression' (2001) and 'Grand Champ' (2003) including tracks like 'Where The Hood At?' and 'Get It On The Floor'. Later on, in 2006, 'Year of the Dog...Again' was released including hits like 'We In Here' and 'Lord Give Me a Sign'. He released his last albums in 2008: 'Walk With Me Now' and 'You'll Fly With Me Later'. DMX’s shows are explosive and bring back to life the true origins of hip-hop.
Mash Out Posse, better known as M.O.P., is an American hip hop duo comprised of rappers Billy Daze and Lil' Fame. The two have a distinctive, hard and sometimes aggressive rap style, so they built a strong base of engaged followers in the underground hip hop world. Yet, at the turn of the century, they had a huge commercial success with the album 'Warriorz', released in 2000. The first single 'Ante Up' became an instant classic, featuring Busta Rhymes. The follow-up single became a hit as well; the song 'Cold As Ice' by Foreigner was sampled with the same title. Definitely a must for those who miss the good old days of hardcore hip hop!
