DIRK. has used the past two years to become and even tighter band than they already were. The rock band of which a leading magazine once said they could ācompete with the best Belgian rock bands of the momentā has managed to remove the little remaining baby fat with surgical precision and sounds even more focused. At the same time, they throw open the doors to new musical territory. DIRK. is still nostalgic and warm, but is also looking ahead. āIdiot Paradiseā, the first single from the third album of the same name that is to be released in spring 2023, is melodic and culminates with addictive hooks in a savage coda of barbed guitars and driving drums.
