7:00 pm - SOUNDTRACK BY ... Owl Jolsons
8:30 pm - Black To Comm (de)
“Black To Comm staat op eenzame hoogte in de wereld van de soundscape artiesten.” (Gonzo Circus)
“An evil twin of Philip Jeck or Leyland Kirby” (Pitchfork)
Black To Comm is Hamburg resident Marc Richter (not to be confused with Brit Max Richter). His musical habitat manoeuvres between ambient, drone and modern classical. His sound sources are not only field recordings but also crackling vinyl - “I love the sensitivity of vinyl.” - and dusty cassette-players. He's been releasing albums on his very own Dekorder label since ’03. When the renowned Type Records label released his album ‘Alphabet 1968’ in ’10 he was suddenly internationally launched and lauded. Pitchfork praised him with a 7.8 and wrote “Alphabet 1968 is an adventurous, intriguing listen”. His latest album ‘Earth’ (the score for a silent film) was released via De Stijl.
9:45 pm - Dez Mona feat. BOX: Sàga (be)
“Dez Mona verwondert, verbluft en verrukt met opera 'Sága'.” (De Morgen)
‘Sága’ - the goddess of history – is the blatantly impressive opera by our favourite union Dez Mona and the baroque ensemble BOX. Dez Mona's central figures – Gregory Frateur and Nicolas Rombouts – wrote an entirely new œuvre especially for ‘Sága’. Baroque ensemble BOX (Baroque Orchestration X) added a number of typical baroque instruments to the whole, including viola da gamba and the theorbe. In Belgium this project could only be seen in a number of prestigious venues, such as deSingel and Flagey, but it's now at the Feeërieën once again – as its far too good. Dez Mona & Box have created a positively perfect, fairy-tale and intimate musical universe with ‘Sága’. Jeroen Olyslaegers provided the story for it and fashion designer Veronique Branquinho provided the costumes.
