Students, they deserve a little distraction and preferably to kick off the academic year. So there's no better date than Thursday 14 October to dance off those first days back at school.
Lotte Vanhamel and Micha Volders are Vermin Twins, a duo that makes magic with media. They love cartoons & dancing, dirty sounds and infectious tunes, they put together their very own universe where machines talk and insects jump, accompanied by a broken funk band. While Lotte spits out her vocals in sci-fi mode, Micha rubs his Talkbox in your face. Their debut ‘Exoskeleton’ was well received.
Stijn, the man who taught his people funky dance moves, is back. ‘Ten Danz’ is the title of his new CD, released by PIAS, from which 3 singles simultaneously found their way onto 3 diverse radio stations like Studio Brussel, Radio 1 and Klara. He'll be doing it solo again live, aiming even more in the direction of electro and, by association, the dancefloor.
Shameboy has been excelling in a fresh sound that throws together electro and basic rock elements since 2004. Tight beats with plenty of soul. Biting funk with melodies like earwigs. Single ‘Rechoque’ landed on the turntables of Tiga and Felix da Housecat and the ball started rolling. But Shameboy is no one-hit wonder, his new album ‘808 State Of Mind’ proves that. If you still think electronic music is dull, you're deaf.
Utrecht is homebase to the 4-member DJ-collective Boemklatsch. In The Netherlands they already enjoy an excellent status with party-people and our very own Dr. Lektroluv is a fan too. You'll be sure to find their name on a number of festival bills this summer and in October they'll be coming to Brussels to close this party in style.
