This evening with Derya Yildirim will be a real double-bill and exploration of wonderful contemporary Turkish psychedelica.
Copenhagen-based Danish/Turkish band Tuhaf recently debuted with their now highly acclaimed album ‘Mere Guld’ (read: “more gold”). ‘Mere Guld’ is located musically at the crossroads of Anatolian folk, indie rock, free jazz and traditional Danish songs. Added bonus: charismatic Turkish-born frontlady Berrin Bass, who already shone at Roskilde as well as the Copenhagen Jazz Festival. Belgian blog Turn Up The Volume! Wrote of it: “Tuhaf take you on a spiritual trip on their debut album with Eastern chants and vibes creating a trance-like journey with different sonority for different moods.”
