The juiciest beats and the strangest rhymes of the Low Lands, and by extension Europe, hail from the partying brains of 4 guys from Amsterdam. Together, Vieze Fur, Willie Wartaal and P. Fabergé are De Jeugd van Tegenwoordig and until further notice they form the only European answer to the American R&B party scene. Their highly praised productions are the merit of their partner in crime Bas Bron a.k.a. De Neger Des Heils. ‘Watskeburt?!’, ‘Hollereer’, ‘Datvindjeleukhè’ and ‘Deze Donkere Jongen Komt Zo Hard’ have meanwhile become mega-hits here too. At the moment DJVT are taking a break in order to work hard on the successor to their second successful album ‘De Machine’. This will be released in May 2010 and to festively mark the occasion (and following their stupendous support act to N*E*R*D in the AB in December 2008) they'll now be coming to the AB's Main Hall in their own rite.
Support act will be Aux Raus, a techno-punk act from Amsterdam. Their songs are written on two drum machines, a screaming guitar and an old computer. The result is a mix of energetic, classic punk-rock and contemporary techno and gabber. In 2007 they won the prestigious 3 voor 12 Award (Best Album 2007) and also a Dutch Essent Award. Their new CD was launched during Lowlands 2009 and is now being released here.
DJ on duty is Danny De Funk, the De Jeugd's tour-DJ. He'll be throwing juicy records into the mix, before, during, and (especially) also after the show.
