Belgian boutique tape-label launches 2 new releases
Cassette label DAUW, from Ghent, is known for the release of inventive new electronica. The label’s visual aspect never goes unnoticed either, as each release is paired with the beautiful design and artwork of artist Femke Strijbol. Now they’re putting out new work and we’re inviting them to the AB Salon.
Stijn Hüwels is far from being an unknown in the Belgian scene. He explores the musical landscape with his minimalistic loop-based electronica. On his album Tomodashi, which was recently released on Dauw, he collaborates with various artists (Dirk serries, Yves De Mey, Ralph Steinbuchel, ....) with whom he experiments with guitars, synths and field recordings. Ambient with warm synth-sounds and pure melancholy.
R Beny plays a little further from home. The producer, originally from California, comes to present his new album ‘echo’s verse’, the successor to ‘saudade’ (which was selected as one of the Best Ambient Albums of 2018 by FACT magazine).
