Energetic post-punk with a nod to the 80s
With one leg Lézard stands in the David Byrnian era, with the other in the cool underground post-punk scene of the 1980s. As a rule, it is the chameleon that changes colour, not just any lizard, but Lézard flouts those laws of nature. Frontman Neil Claes, accompanied by four rock-solid musicians, brings a motley and multi-layered set at a rising and falling pace, not hiding influences from XTC, Talking Heads and contemporary post-punk acts. The geometric and danceable sound of their music is supported by projections of digitally processed analogue images, good for a thunderous and energetic gesamtkunstwerk.
