Blackened post-punk gaze
Ronker suffers from growing pains, and what do you do when you can’t seem to outgrow the ‘getting away with things’? Throw a no-nonsense shot-put of an album out into the world, is what the band must have concluded.
Ronker sounds hungry on this debut, nervous and dealing with its bipolar nature: the je-m'en-fout-isme of post-punk and the concrete character of ‘90s alt-metal both contribute equally to the band’s DNA. The album is an ode to the ‘underachievers’ in our society, where there is no search undertaken to find Jesus amongst the marginals but there is solace found in self-acceptance.
The band will be bringing their new album to AB for their biggest headline show to date.
