You know him from 'Ordinary Man'? But this Irish singer is far from ordinary! Not directly famous for his own compositions but more someone who discovers songs and alters them to suit his himself and his voice. Genuine and inspiringly sung folk of the sort handed down in the best of traditions, that is the craft of Christy Moore, here again with Declan Sinnott at his side.
Christy Moore is the older brother of Luka Bloom and he already released his first LP in '69: the significantly titled 'Paddy On The Road' - now available again, on CD via his site, but then copied directly from 'used vinyl' without re-mastering or clean up work. Don't let that be a problem with this bard though: record companies were never his best friends and fortunately we can always turn to more lively recordings like 'Live At St. Vicar' or ''Live At The Point'.
This is the archetypical valiant troubadour with a school-of-hard-knocks behind him and with florid careers in legendary bands like Planxty and Moving Hearts. But, most especially, he's the headstrong performer who knows how to move every café or venue - solo or duo if need be - like now in the Carré in Amsterdam... and you too, of course, in the AB in Brussels!
