Poignant, dark doom-folk
Chelsea Wolfe draws inspiration from all things dark: from black metal to dark ambient and Scandinavian folk. Her ethereal voice, experimental electronica and distortion effects on guitar result in ominous, unset-tling songs. On her latest album She Reaches Out To She Reaches Out To She the singer makes a power-ful statement about personal growth and authenticity.
“It’s a record about the past self reaching out to the present self reaching out to the future self to summon change, growth, and guidance. It’s a story of setting yourself free from situations and patterns that are hold-ing you back, in order to become self-empowered. It’s an invitation to step into your authenticity”, she says.
