The Belgian, and International, metal scene lost one of its most impressive and powerful drummers ever on Saturday 10 August 2013: Phil Baheux of metal pride Channel Zero. The band had started working on the successor to ‘Feed ‘Em With A Brick’ (°2011) and was just ready to head into the studio when fate struck. After two hard months of mourning and doubt, it is now time to carefully get the band that Phil B put his heart and soul into back on the rails. Channel Zero resumes the recording of album #6 this fall, with Roy Mayorga (Stone Sour / Ex Soulfly/ Sepultura) as guest drummer.
Franky DSVD: "Phil is irreplaceable and out of respect we are currently opting for a guest drummer who won't immediately receive a role as permanent member of the band. I want to whole-heartedly thank everyone for the immense amount of support and genuine sympathy that we as a band have received. This was outright impressive and heartwarming.”
In 2010, exactly 20 years after their establishment, the four from Channel Zero claimed their crowns as Belgian metal gods by filling AB no less than 6 times! In doing so, the gents wrote national musical history. A year later, they easily sold out the AB twice more, with special guest Phil Demmel (Machine Head). The love between Channel Zero and AB is clearly big and that's why we want to have the band, that was Phil B's great musical love for 20 years, shine again... on the stage where it started all over again for them in 2010!
