VOLTA is a workplace and a concert venue for musicians. Musicians can head there for guidance, rehearsal spaces, residences, workshops and more. A super organisation in a super location with a super repertoire.
They present ‘Chose Qui Bouge’ in AB. An evening in which we see a reflection of what’s going on in Brussels. To do this, they went in search of artists who challenge themselves and work to break new ground. VOLTA isn’t inspired by genres. It looks to the tendencies in the current youth landscape and offers a stage to to musicians with an experimental and quirky character.
ANA DIAZ
Ana Diaz is a Brussels artist with a Spanish background. Her music is a mixture of everything she likes and knows: hip-hop, electronica, soul, r&b, … Her lyrics are about things that she has experienced herself or that happen around her, which makes it all very personal.
LEAP/DETACH
The trio consisting of Vitja Pauwels, Hendrik Lasure and Casper Van De Velde resulted from a research project. They mainly present us with improvised, electro-acoustic music and recently released their album ‘Singer Featherweight’.
JR/.?BST
JR/.?BST makes moody ambient electronica. Those wanting a foretaste of this mysterious artist’s work can listen in the meantime to his monthly show on ‘The Word Radio’.
DAISY DARKPARK
Daisy Darkpark transports you to another universe. Her tracks have something filmic about them, and at the same time they are challenging, experimental and dark.
TSUGI
TSUGI is a young producer and DJ from Brussels. Fierce bass, trap, grime and electronica … he’s always searching for a new sound. ‘Dreamstate’ came out at the end of January - an imaginary dream world that became a safe space for him to freely do his own thing. He also released ‘Silver Tears’ on this EP, working with Martha Da’ro for that one.
