solo drones and solo electronica
BRDCST is AB’s brand new indoor spring festival, one whereby we focus on musical limitlessness. The name is a direct reference to the retro futuristic electronica-pop of English band Broadcast, which released inspiring albums like ‘Haha Sound’ and ‘Noise Made By The People’ over the past decade. Artists who feel strongly about musical innovation will form the focal point for BRDCST.
PAK YAN LAU (b.)
‘Lau is more than capable of crafting intriguing soundworlds’ The Wire.
Pak Yan is a busy bee. She is the pivotal figure in Brussels’ groove/trance project Going, plays piano with Lauroshilau, and writes music for dance, theatre and film. During BRDCST she will come present her just recently released triple 10” box ‘Solo Books’. With prepared piano, synths and toy instruments, Pak Yan Lau mainly focuses upon free improvisation and poetic sound-mosaics.
INNERWOUD (b)
With this solo project, in which he finishes subtle drones and dark soundscapes off with neoclassical elements, contrabassist Pieter-Jan Van Assche sweeps you off into the magical universe that is Innerwoud. His debut - via the impressive Consouling Sounds – came to life in the studio of Yuko-frontman Kristof Deneijs and was mixed by Jasper Maekelberg (Yuko, Faces On Tv). Completed by a fine guest contribution by Karen Willems (ex-Yuko, Inwolves)!
Admittance is free of charge and without registration but seats are limited, so be here on time!
