New kid on the block with a succulent Brussels accent and tons of energy. Brusselian LeBlanc is the newest kid on the block and is here to stay. He secured a finals placing in StuBru’s De Nieuwe Lichting with his latest single, Boos, and was tipped by De Morgen as the changemaker of the future. LeBlanc, born 22 years ago as Daan De Witte, arrives with refreshing Dutch-language hip-hop that seems to have risen from the ashes of the first generation of successful Belgian rappers. He experiments with two-step rhythms and spits hard and fast barz on pumping electronic beats full of breakbeat, punk, and drum-'n’-bass influences. This busy Brusselian runs the radio show Moedertaal on Bruzz. On and around the stage, things can get rowdy. It’s the ideal outlet for anyone who needs to release some energy or wants to summon some.
Jazz Brak has been part of the iconic Brussels hip-hop group STIKSTOF since the beginning. Together with Zwangere Guy, Astrofisiks and DJ Vega, he has been steadily paving the way at festivals and concerts with classics and bangers since 2010. His first solo album BRAK was released in March 2023 and received rave reviews from all corners. Being from Brussels, Jasper De Ridder aka Jazz Brak gives us an insight into his personal life and searches for the right words to describe his love-hate relationship with our capital city. No grotesque words about barkers and biters, but a magnifying glass on his generation, his surroundings and family. "Brussels is the city and we are there, with love! Everything is real here! And you can see that!"
