We haven't heard from German stage-animal Beatsteaks here in Brussels since 2007. That was the year the album ‘.limbo messiah’ (that's right, with a full stop at the front and without capitals) was released and they scored a modest hit here with ‘Cut Off The Top’. In the meantime they also released a live CD/DVD in 2008. Fast forward to 2011. That's when we can expect a new album (via Warner) and the band has already announced an arena tour in Germany. Because Beatsteaks is simply huge there but Holland and Belgium are also gradually falling for this pop-punk band from Berlin. So we welcome them once again in the AB on Saturday 14 May 2011.
Beatsteaks is a pop-punk band that has established a solid fanbase since 1995. Their 1999 album ‘Launched’ was the first from a German band on prominent punk-rock label Epitaph. In 2004 the won the ‘Best German Act’ at the MTV Music Europe Awards and 3 years later, at the same awards, they bagged the Best Live Act prize. At home the band regularly performs for ten thousand frenzied fans.
Support act will be Dÿse from Germany. According to their bio they're as radical as punk, as brilliant as avant-garde and as racy as Michael Schumacher. Top-shelf noise-rock.
