The most ground-breaking band of the 90’s cranks it out!
Here’s a band who definitely counts as ‘Iconic’: At the Drive-In, who burst out of the hallucinogenic dust plains of El Paso, Texas back in ’93. Having spent three years drifting around every obscure café in America’s rich concert heartland, they finally cobbled together their first cut, ‘Acrobatic Tenement’, on a budget of $600. The thrilling rollercoaster ride of post-hardcore, noise and experimental rock, combined with their hyperactive, mind-blowing live concerts left the American alternative rock public dumbstruck.
After a few personnel changes, the band settled on the now legendary line-up and a slew of EPs followed, and then two LPs: the mythical ‘In/Casino/Out’ (’98) and the breakthrough album ‘Relationship of Command’ (’00), which included guest vocals from über-punk Iggy Pop!
