Controversial British metalcore with heavy metal influences!
On their third full-length album ‘From Death to Destiny’, a remarkably mature Asking Alexandria gradually growing away from the screamo/metalcore that typified their early days. The influence of heavy metal bands like Def Leppard, Journey and Whitesnake (to which they released an ode on EP ‘Under the Influence: A Tribute to the Legends of Hard Rock’) and hardrock legends like Aerosmith and Guns N’ Roses is clearly audible on the new album. “A musical baby of Mötley Crüe and Slipknot” as frontman/loudmouth Danny Worsnop beautifully summarized. More “radio-friendly”, adds songsmith/Ben Bruce, without losing sight of “our usual balls-to-the-wall kind of stuff” (by the way, they invited metalcore-legend Howard Jones - ex-Killswitch Engage – along on ‘Until the End’).
