Flagbearers of the British metal/technocore scene.
Revolver magazine recently added Asking Alexandria - currently in the studio for a third LP - to their ‘Most Anticipated Albums of 2012’ chart. Not without reason, of course, as these flagbearers of the British technocore scene, are busy making solid progression in the land of the double bass-drum. They launched their latest ‘Reckless & Relentless’ in a sensational AB Box earlier this year and a measly four months later the five guys from Britain's York had conjured up a short film: ‘Through Sin and Self-Destruction’. “A controversial, uncensored look into the real lives of a new era of rockstars for today’s generation”. Real life: hanging out with a technocore band! The proof that Asking Alexandria look further than the end of their metalcore nose. Be sure to view the trailer via the link below.
We'd just like to make a prediction here: 2012 will be Asking Alexandria's year. Why? Well, they bagged four nominations for the Kerrang Awards 2012 for, amongst others, ‘Best British Band’ and ‘Best Live Band’. So we know what's going down on June 7, the day of the award show in London. Proof to be provided at AB soon! Legendary now already…
Very special guest While She Sleeps snatched two of the major prizes at the Kerrang! Awards 2012, ‘Best British Newcomer’ and ‘Breakthrough Artist’, right from under many a metalcore nose. Debut ‘This Is The Six’ struck like a kamikaze pilot in Pearl Harbor, so that's very hard, and friend (Kerrang!, Metal Hammer, BBC Music and even The Guardian) and foe agree on one thing: While She Sleeps is a metalcore phenomenon! The five from Sheffield are certainly not planning to let you doze off during their first visit to Brussels.
Gothic and horror mixed with metalcore from vampire region, Pennsylvania, US. Or was that Transylvania? Whatever, scary band that Motionless In White. Established name on the Warped Tour since 2006, with first album ‘Creatures’ on Fearless Records (Lostprophets/Blessthefall/At The Drive-in). ‘Infamous’ is to be the name of the second album and they'd like to emphasise that reputation a little extra in the AB. Cradle of Filth with breakdowns!
We'll be getting up to speed with Betraying The Martyrs, French metalcore that already took a trip over the border in June to launch debut ‘Breathe In Life’ to an exuberant Metal Dome at Graspop. Aside from wine, cheese and baguettes, the French can now label this sixsome's fierce metalcore as a national pride. Excellent band!
